CRYOgrams

Double exposed by a pair of opposites; heat and cold. The negative emulsions from the Pyrogram series were placed outdoors overnight in the freezing air for a second exposure. After direct exposure to sub-zero boreal air, processing chemicals of instant film and the film negatives became monochromatic crystallisations.

Project Gallery

These images were made in the Boreal Forest - one of 18 Earth subsystems identified precariously resting on a tipping point of collapse. The age and mass of plant life within means the air you are breathing now, as you are reading this, have been recycled many times over there.

Please visit the shop for prints from 20cm x 24cm.
